I am trying to Install FreeBSD from the binary distribution on Stiffie,
the installation goes OK until after I have extracted the binaries as
per the installation instructions, but when I try to do the following
step I get an error message:
As per the instructions I need to do the following
mv /.profile /.profile.install
   This works fine, but then
ln /root/.profile /.profile gives me a message which says something to
the effect that the command ln doesn't exist and then if I reboot the
system thereafter it won't boot.

What is the ln command meant to say? and is there any way in which I can
fix this or do I need to install again?

The machine I am using has a 540Mb Quantum SCSI drive with a 200Mb Dos
partition.

Thanks
Andre
