I suppose you'd also convict a person who refuses to answer a question
based on his fifth amendment rights.  What about when the police come
knocking on your door wanting to search the place for illegal drugs
without a warrant?  If you don't let them in, does it make you believe
that you are hiding some drugs?  I don't think so.
