It seems that Ultrix 4.2 can also be very stable: % (hostname;date;uptime) news.introl.com Sun May 1 22:41:38 CDT 1994 10:41pm up 328 days, 7 mins, 0 users, load average: 2.94, 1.75, 1.01 >Apps: elm, inn, trn, microemacs, and various BSDish utilities. Inn & friends, on our system. I've certainly never heard of longer uptime. The 201 days for NetBSD 0.8 is pretty impressive, however. Hopefully the next release past 0.9 (whatever it's going to be called) will be as solid. There is something to be said for running a fixed set of programs on a system since you're not likely to stress new areas of the systems and cause a crash. -- Tim Chase Introl Corp.
