I get the same thing with an NE2000:

Apr 27 01:18:03 cleese /386bsd: ed0: remote transmit DMA failed to complete
Apr 27 01:18:03 cleese /386bsd: ed0: NIC memory corrupt - invalid packet length 19969
Apr 27 01:18:03 cleese last message repeated 4 times
Apr 27 01:18:19 cleese /386bsd: ed0: remote transmit DMA failed to complete
Apr 27 01:18:19 cleese /386bsd: ed0: NIC memory corrupt - invalid packet length 19969
Apr 27 01:18:19 cleese last message repeated 2 times
Apr 27 01:18:19 cleese /386bsd: ed0: NIC memory corrupt - invalid packet length 20225

It doesn't appear to actually do any harm; the system continues to
network just fine after the errors appear on the console (I should hope
so! It's acting as a mail and news hub for 60-odd other systems :-).

Is it worth worrying about?

I tried an internal modem, newton@cleese.apana.org.au
but it hurt when I walked. Mark Newton
