I am a partner in Hawaii's largest commercial Bulletin Board Service. We presently support simple e-mail and limited usenet news conferences. An immediate goal is to provide general internet services via an Intel X86 platform. Considering a 'cost vs time' situation I have contaced a few Internet VAR vendors to obtain a 'turn-key' system. We have pretty much chosen one company that utilizes BSD as a base for their product. With that, my first priority is to 'dive-in' and learn the OS and related 'net' applications to some degree. Towards that goal, I submit the following questions: -What are the basic differences between the "free" BSD and the commercial release? -What are the prices for the commercial BSD? -Where can I get it? (recommendations gladly accepted) -Our initial system should support 32 users concurrently via an on-board multi-port card and remote "digiboard" portserver box via a telco frame- relay offering. Any configuration recommendations are again, gladly accepted. Please respond via e-mail to <pjc@crash.cts.com> Mahalo Patrick Chicas -- Hawaii Online -- 808-246-8887 -- <pjc@hol.com>
