Date: 12 May 1994 08:15:32 -0400 Organization: Me, myself, and I Lines: 20 Message-ID: <2qt6l4$ld@cae.cad.gatech.edu> Reply-To: gt6525c@prism.gatech.edu NNTP-Posting-Host: cae.cad.gatech.edu Keywords: freebsd I've installed FreeBSD 1.1 - RELEASE, and I've noticed that apps seem to run a lot slower than FreeBSD 1.0.2. Even simple things like vi and more take a couple of seconds just to load up. Compile times are really long, much longer than they ought to be. I'm guessing that this is because of the dynamically linked libraries. Is this the case? If so, is there a way around it, short of recompiling everything with libraries linked in at compile time? I'm wondering how many other people are experiencing this problem. I'm running this on a 386/33, so the speed difference is very noticeable. I presume that those of you running on a 486/50 or higher probably won't see the difference. Thanks for the help... -- Damon Gallaty gt6525c@prism.gatech.edu "A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men..."
