I recently attempted to install FreeBSD (The initial 3 floppies) Release
v1.1 on a machine that had previously had 386BSD (Bill & Lynne). I am
unable to get past the reboot stage after filesyst.flp is installed. In
otherwords, you are required to NOT place the filesyst.flp in when
asked and simply hit return. This step is to end with the kc> prompt
but I never get that far. It stays on the words:

changing root device to fd0d
_ <--prompt just stays here for hours....

The system booted from fd(0,a)/386bsd

I'm not sure what is not working here, it probes and finds what appears
to be the devices in the system as well as previously installed the
boot area and /usr area. (I used ALL the defaults). I'm running a 486sx
20Mhz with Opti Chip Set.

              Thanks, Michael
