Yes, I run ldconfig. Of course, I haven't touched /etc/rc yet, so I'm assuming
that however ldconfig is set up from installation is the way it's supposed
to be. However, I'm not familiar with ldconfig, so perhaps there is a way
of optimizing it. Any clues out there?

BTW, somebody asked for hard numbers on these increased times. Here are some
examples...

			FreeBSD 1.0.2		FreeBSD 1.1R
			-------------		------------
Compiling:
FreeBSD kernel source	20 minutes		1 hour
Mtools-2.0.7		5 minutes		12 minutes (same exact source!)

Apps:
vi /etc/rc.local	~1 second		~3 seconds
man telnet		~6 seconds		~15 seconds

Also, it's worth mentioning that I'm using the same kernel configuration
file.
