Yes, I am in the process of using a serial cable to transfer 386BSD files (bins) from my 486/ESIX-3.2 to my 386/25 running the bare 386BSD binaries. I've been seeing LOTS of "com1: silo overflow" message (even though I'm using COM2 (!)), and some "Retry 0: Bad escape sequence 20" and "Retry 0: Garbled data subpacket" messages. I'm using zmodem. It does seem to be transferring the files, although I'm sure the rate is low due to the excessive errors. I do not have an NS16550 UART on the serial port, and am running at 9600 baud, so maybe that's the problem. Also, stty doesn't seem to accept anything higher than 9600. -- bill@unixland.natick.ma.us ESIX Mailing List Moderator Public Access UNIX/USENET/E-MAIL! UUCP Accounts Available!
