I've heard that there's a 3C579 driver in the works for NetBSD. I did the 3C579 support for the commercial BSD/386 operating system so I know it's not that hard. If it's speed you want, consider a TNIC-1500 from <steve@sccsi.com>. He includes a driver with the card and it supports at least NetBSD. The TNIC uses DMA so it's a bit faster than a 3C509 but it doesn't quite keep up with the 3C579 due to bus size differences. -- Paul Vixie Redwood City, CA decwrl!vixie!paul <paul@vix.com>
