Hi !
I bougth a >1 GB disk from Fujitsu (drive number look at the subject) and have
some problems. First I must say that I have an Adaptec 1542B with BIOS 3.20
and I can not get any extended translation mechanism, the disk still hangs
during bootup. When I try it untranslated the disk still boots but while
beginning fsck I got messages like: aha0:1:0 non-media hardware-failure.
(By the way, the disk has id 1, id 0 is a dos disk). Someone told me that
without extended translation I can not boot from a drive more than 1 GB. These
errors still reside until switch off. The disk sometimes really beeps for 10
seconds. Now I tried to boot FreeBSD from disk 0 and all went ok. But when
there is an error during fsck I have to switch off the system so the disk is ok
again. Can anyone help me ?
Bye,
	Udo

P.S.: I tried different operation modes: scsi-1/scsi-2, asynchron/synchron etc.
