Since the budget is tight, I will purchase only SCSI controller recently. And buy the others gradually. Since the adaptor will be used in the next 3-5 years, I was told that my best bet is Adaptec SCSI Bus Mastering. I think it is a SCSI-2, 16-bit card. I really new to this, so I'm asking for more info and sugguestions. I will use this SCSI adaptor primarily in FreeBSD env and OS/2 2.x. Since I don't have any SCSI device now, I will borrow CDROM from my work which is a Sun CDROM. I think the connector is for SCSI-2. Thus, I wish the controller I buy will support SCSI-2. I'm open to any comment/corrections. Please emial me directly. And if there is suff. interests, I'll post a summary. Please email me 1. the brand name, 2. the model name, 3. interfaces suppted, 4. features (if any), and 5. price (and where can I get such price) Thanks a lot!!!! --Eric -- ***************************************--- Grad. student ---* * Obviousness is always the enemy of * \ Jui-Lin Lu (Eric) / * * correctness. -- Bertrand Russell * / jlu@cs.umr.edu \ * ***************************************--- Univ. of Missouri-Rolla ---*
