I haven't had this problem w/ 1.0e&RELEASE, so while I'd like to upgrade to 1.1 - I really can't cuz the boot disks simply won't boot :( they lock up. so here is what the setup is: - adaptec 1542 w/ 3 SCSI disks - one is Maxtor (ID2), Quantum 210S (ID1) and Seqagate 237 (ID0). During the boot procedure I get "adapter not taking commands, frozen???" - regardless wether I put Quantum as ID 0, 1 or 2. I also tried recompiling the boot blocks for the hard disks and booting off the hard disk - but to no avail. the problem is obviously that there is some new code in 1.1 which locks w/ my Quantum 210s (which happens to be fairly old HD). if there is a FAQ entry on this or someone has a packed answer - please feel free to do so via mail. thank you, Nik -- Nik Malenovic (malenovi@sin.com) | Admin for SIN (Serbian Internet Network) Pager: [+1.708.592.6806] | offering e-mail and news to Serbia and PO Box 87241, Chicago, IL 60683-7241| anonymous ftp with information on Serbia
