The problem seems to be with the line speed between : the computer and modem (I am using external USR14.4 Sportster modems). I am setting the line speed to 19200 by setting the : ports 'ttys' setting to std.19200. Is this correct? I am running FreeBSD 1.1 Release. I can't get my dial in work either. However, I tried only 38400 and 19200. Can't say for 9600 (I will try next Monday). Instead of ttyd0, I used tty00. Wonder if it make a difference. The problem was: the modem picks up the call (because I set Auto answer), but the getty doesn't come on (no login prompt). Then the modem hangup and off hook again and again. If you have a solution, I would appreciate if you could let me know. Thank you. Nee Pai Chee
