OK, while Jordan and Robert are willing to spend a little time :-)

I've recently started playing with Linux. Reasons why:

    1. Availablity. I'm not on the Internet, and a friend has a
floppy based Slackware. I haven't seen a 'commercial'
floppy based distribution for either NetBSD or FreeBSD.
I can certainly get NetBSD with a day trip and a tape.

    2. Hardware. Linux seems to support a much wider range of
hardware, particularily in the area of low-end stuff.
If I want SCSI then a cheap ($NZ60) Future Domain is
usable under Linux, not under the BSDs as far as I
can see. Yes, a BusLogic card is far superior however
right now I don't have the $NZ250 or so for the card.
       Linux gives me the option.

    3. DOS emulation.

    4. iBCS support.

    5. Hardware resources. A recent FreeBSD announcement said
something like '...it can run in 4meg again'. Linux
documentation say it can run in 2 meg. When you are
using a 4 meg machine it appears Linux is more suited to
       that environment.

    6. I _still_ don't understand the NetBSD/FreeBSD philosophical
and practical differences. I have a better understanding of
       *BSD and Linux differences.

    7. Linux HOWTOs beat the posted documentation I've seen for the
       BSD projects.
