Carlstrom) Subject: DOS 5 w/ 386bsd problems Message-ID: <1992Aug5.023048.20619@athena.mit.edu> Sender: news@athena.mit.edu (News system) Nntp-Posting-Host: pegasus.mit.edu Organization: mit References: <1992Aug5.002346.20743@gumby.dsd.trw.com> Date: Wed, 5 Aug 1992 02:30:48 GMT Lines: 15 running a 486/33 with a conner 200 meg HD which tinybsd finds and identifies. i can boot the floppy fine, and install to the harddrive just fine if i use the WHOLE drive. i went back, and tried to put a DOS 5 partition first, and then booted the floppy again, and installed 386bsd on the harddrive again. the DOS 5 partition still worked fine, but the 386bsd went in a reboot cycle, panicing. message flew by to quick to read. i hope for my sake (althought you might disagredd for yer sake) that this is a FAQ. do i have to use the "real" partitions FAQ answer, or is that for partitioning the 386bsd partition internally (sorry, i dont have it in front of me here at work) email or news reply apreciated. i'm pretty sure i got the 386 partition to start at the begining of the cylinder. -bri
