BSD is tainted by the use of AT&T source code at Berkeley and is subject to constant harassment by lawyers. And the BSD community today is in what might charitably be called a state of disarray. The Unix functionality comes from many places. There is relatively little code from BSD. We used a few files from the Net-2 tape, and are in the processes of converting to the files from the 4.4-Lite distribution.
