I've been trying to get BSD installed on a minimal system (40mb ST157A,
40mb Conner IDE drives) for the past few days. I've gotten the Conner
setup as /dev/wd1 but unfortunately there are about 65k of bad sectors
on the disk (it's old).
I start copying files to wd1 and eventuall I get the error:
wd1a: hard error writting fsbn 22775 of 22768-22783 (wd1 bn 22775; cn 218
tn 3 sn 25)
I've tried doing a bad144 -a /dev/wd1a 22775 but I still get hung up around
there. Is there any DOS utility I can use to scan the disk for bad tracks
and marking them so NetBSD doesn't use 'em?
Otherwise it's time to find a cheap IDE... :-)
thanks.
