Has anyone run > into this situation? The system configuration is as follows: grrrr I have the same problem. though I am running FreeBSD 1.0R, and I get out of it by clicking left-button on my mouse and using "delete" command to delete the login window (hence logging off). after this procedure the machine seems to be fine. I have found that the lockup is due to the fact that the system reports something to the console (like "su"-ing) and the first-time-login-after-reboot works fine UNTIL you try "su" or alike. also I get lockups after long periods of login - like if I leave it over the weekend :) Nik -- Nik Malenovic (malenovi@sin.com) | Admin for SIN (Serbian Internet Network) Pager: [+1.708.592.6806] | offering e-mail and news to Serbia and PO Box 87241, Chicago, IL 60683-7241| anonymous ftp with information on Serbia
