   to snuff with FreeBSD-1.1 and 1.0.  How are you running configure?

   I haven't found them, but I do worry about them! :-)

I had to do the following with emacs-19.24:

    configure --prefix /public (it figures out i386-unknown-freebsd)
    make all install MAKE=/usr/bin/make

The MAKE assignment was necessary to stop it from not knowing how to
make make.
