For me it was not a big problem to built and install InterViews, but I've got some very sizable executables (with shared libraries IV and Unidraw). When it comes to execution, the response time and overall performance of the InterViews applications is extremely bad. Ibuild dumps core with a segmentation fault. The latter may happen due to a mess between gcc-2.4.5 and gcc-2.5.8 compiled code. Unfortunately FreeBSD still has 2.4.5 as it's standard compiler, while 2.5.8 has improved C++ capabilities (which are actually bug fixes). So if YOU are happily working with doc or ibuild and have an acceptable performance, please tell me how you went there! Do you have a better hardware i.e. DRAM capacity > 8MB, or VGA better than TVGA 8900 B, or local bus or whatever? Are there any fixes for InterViews out there? Up to date diffs for porting to FreeBSD 1.1? Are there alternatives to InterViews if I want a WYSIWYG editor and an X user interface builder? The idea of doc is absolutely great and would be exactly what I need if it only run faster. Isn't there any other free X user interface builder out there?
