The latter may happen due to a mess between gcc-2.4.5 and gcc-2.5.8 compiled code. Unfortunately FreeBSD still has 2.4.5 as it's standard compiler, while 2.5.8 has improved C++ capabilities (which are actually bug fixes). Heh heh. Vorsicht, mein Freund. Actually, you will find that C++ support is BROKEN in 2.5.8, this being one of the reasons why we have not yet adopted it! Believe me, one of our heaviest users of C++ (Warner Losh) has worked with 2.5.8 and submitted more than a few bug reports. 2.4.5 remains the last (official) incarnation of gcc with which he can build his C++ based product. I've also built the entire InterViews source (ibuild, doc and all) quite successfully with 2.4.5, so I don't see how there should be any problems with C++ holding you up. Have you tried the version of InterViews in: freebsd.cdrom.com:~ftp/pub/FreeBSD/ports/x11/iv ?? Jordan -- Jordan K. Hubbard FreeBSD core team Friend to mollusks
