Hi,

I am trying to install a 3C509 ethernet card in my new
FreeBSD-1.1-RELEASE system but can't get the system to recognize the
thing. I had no trouble getting one to work in my ISA system, but I am
having no luck with my EISA system. Is there some sort of flag or
define I should know about when compiling a kernel for an EISA system?
I suspect I am having problems with the whole ISA/EISA base address
thing, but I don't know the right way to handle it. I've checked out
the FAQ, release note, install notes, and surfed the news groups with
no luck. Any help would be appreciated.

I have the following hardware:

    Compaq-M 55Mhz/DX2 with 8MB RAM
    120 MB Conner IDE drive
3c509-TP (configured to use the AUI port)

And I have the follwing line in my kernel config file:

device ep0 at isa? port 0x300 net irq 10 vector epintr

The EISA config process for adding a new card went smoothly, but I noticed
that configuring the card for an eisa system seems to exclude setting a
base address. I think I am missing somthing obvious here.

Thanks in advance,
