: The trick wasn't that you put it in your fstab. It was that you

HMmmm. I tried the mount with /dev/sd0d (it is true that I was
originally trying /dev/sd0). I also tried using sd0a, sd0c, and sd0e.

No good. Someone sent email telling me that I had to tweak the
partition table with fdisk. I tried that. I used fdisk to create a
"zero length" (start and stop on cyl 0) "A5" 386bsd partition in the
#1 slot. (a "big DOS" partition being in teh #0 slot.) This did
absolutely no good. (thankfully, it didn't do any harm either. :-)

Someone *else* sent mail telling me I had to slap a disklabel on the
sd0 (DOS) disk. Thanks to the senders of these tidbits. However,
neither message was too detailed, so I was winging it with fdisk and I
am, frankly, afraid to slap a disklabel on the DOS (sd0) disk for
fear of blasting the DOS bootblock. (Further, I really do want to get
it right the first time; the data is backed up, but it's all on
floppy... :-(

If anyone could hold my hand (or point to documentation) I'd really be
appreciative. Thanks. :-)

(also, where's the FAQ? The one posted here a few days ago was a mess
on my site...)
