Newsgroups: comp.os.386bsd.questions Subject: Help compiling tcx (nonroot problems) Date: 15 Jun 1994 21:07:24 -0500 Organization: NeoSoft Internet Services +1 713 684 5969 Lines: 12 Message-ID: <2toc4s$mi@Starbase.NeoSoft.COM> NNTP-Posting-Host: starbase.neosoft.com Please help me persuade tcx to let mortal (non-root) users execute tcx'd programs. I am running FreeBSD-1.1-Release on a FrankenClone (TM) that has 8Mb, 486 DLC, and Acer BIOS. I compile tcx as root. Works great for root. It fails for normal users with errors like Operation Not Permitted or Permission Denied. I configured it to uncompress into /usr/tmp/exec since I figured that ordinary users would be unable to uncompress in place. I'm pretty sure I have overlooked something obvious.
