The modem is a USR Sportster 14.4 I have it set for DOS COM2 and IRQ3 i put this line in my /etc/remote: com1:com1:dv=/dev/com1:br#19200:at=hayes:pa=none: when I use 'tip com1' it says 'connected' beeps and then hangs after plowing through the faqs i have seen some possible solutions by modifying the kernal, unfortunately the disks which I downloaded the kernal source distribution onto were corrupted. is a kernal mod the only way to fix this problem or am I overlooking something obvious? please email any responses as news takes forever and booting dos floppies to log in really sucks :) thanks aron roberts fisel@eskimo.com
