Not really. None of the *BSD understand anything but Ethernet devices. Including FDDI or Token Ring means changing a significant portion of if_ethersubr.c in addition to actually writing the drivers. I've that for ULTRIX and DEC OSF/1 and it's not a simple task. Also for Token Ring you need to add source routing and that causes problems of its own.
