Make your filesystems with:
 
	newfs -d 0 -a 4 -n 1 sdXY
 
Then you will get great read perf -- and write perf about 1/2 read
perf.  FreeBSD V1.1.5 (coming out very soon) and easily upgradable from
the CDROM will give high read and write perf.  We have had the clustering
support working in our current for about 2-3 mos now...
