hi,

what's the benefit of using built-in shared-library if auis is not
be used in multi-user environment but in a standalone fashion as most
people do in _386BSD_ platforms?

efforts needed to make auis to use dlopen(), etc, is a practice of
coding: just borrow the idea of SUNOS-4.1* and put in the Imakefiles.

however, LINKDL_ENV is not formally being supported as stated in the
release notes.

also, besides using AUE, i don't know if there's anyone intensively
developing ATK applications. i.e. it appear to me that the
shared-library
version will only benefits system developers who
_should_ be capable of
making the necessary changes but to rely on
CMU support.

frankly, i had made a statically linked version of auis-6.3 on
FreeBSD-1.1.
please comment on whether i should make it ftpable.
it's based on X11R6, but since it use statically linked libraries
(*.a), it
will run fine on R5 environment and there's no need to
ldconfig /usr/andrew/lib.

i'm also interested in knowing whether there's organisation which use
or will use auis in multi-user production environment.

to add, it seems to be more reasonable to add support of waorstation

attached printer to auis, don't you think so?
