The agreement with USL allows us to use and release Net/2 based code until
July (I forget the exact date). We're not going to be rushing a 2.0 release
which will be the new 4.4 based code. We're going to take some time to try and
ensure that the new 4.4 based code is at least as stable as 1.1.5 before we
release it. Since that may take some time it was decided that we should
tidy up -current and make one final release just before the USL deadline so
that all the work we've done so far is available in a full release before
we drop the 1.X lineage.

It's going to be very soon, the alpha release is being bundled at the moment.
The full release will be in a couple of weeks.
