But I never was doing anything with X Windiows. ( (I have MSDOS/Windows programming background) So I have few very naive questions. 1) What good applications are available for X (prefer free :)) - I mean something like File Manager, Editor (sorry, prefer Menu driven), C++ IDE, Communication Packages, Tetris, etc.. 2) Do I have everything nesessary to write my own app for X? Sorry, I really a little bit confused about all different layers of X. 3) Could anybody recommend me a good book covering X architecture and development? Thanks in advance! Boris
