OK, I guess I should have explained a little more clearly. I am looking
for a way of printing the *verbose* contents of a file before displaying
the login prompt. I have already modified my gettytab to display a brief
message, but what I really need is a way to display a screenful of info
that I can easily change from day to day. Kind of like a /etc/motd file,
but printed before the login, not after. I get the feeling this will
require some hacking on the source code. Am I right? My thanks to all
the people who sent responses mentioning gettytab. I apologize for not
explaining things clearly.
