I am trying to copy a partition of a remote 4.3 BSD machine and having some problems (copying small numbers of files is OK). I have tried two ways. Firstly using cp If I do cp -R /remotenfs/foo /local/bar Then I am getting a 100 or so errors of the form vnode pageing error:5 reported. Secondly using tar cd /remotenfs/foo ; tar cf - . | (cd /local/bar; tar xf -) I get tape read errors on a number of files. Any ideas what is going on? -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dr Chris Stenton chris@gnome.co.uk Gnome Computers Ltd Tel/Fax: 44 (0)480 406164 25A Huntingdon St, St Neots, Cambridgeshire, PE19 1BG
