Walnut Creek and the 'FreeBSD group' has made an agreement with USL to cease distributing code based on Net/2 on July 31. This means, ftp, tapes, diskettes, CD, and everything other media that contains Net/2 code will not be distributed from Walnut Creek and/or 'The FreeBSD folks'. >You aren't saying that 1.1.5 won't be ftp'able (at WC) after July 1? >And if its ftp'able where's the difference to give it away on cdrom? It won't be ftp'able, and you can't get a CD-ROM of it. Now, if other ftp sites happen to have the bits on them it's fine since the agreement was made with WC/FreeBSD. (If they have been asked to stop distributing, then it's up to USL to enforce that. I know of other groups/folks that have been asked to stop distribution, but they need to make their own agreement with USL.)
