Subject: I can't get my laptop mouse to work properly with NetBSD 0.9 and XFree 2.0

I am using pms.c modified by Shoji Yuen dated 24 October 93.
This version supports the PS/2 Auxiliary Device Port necessary for laptop
trackball. Here are the symptoms:
1. The mouse works okay, but there seems to be multiple spurious interrupts.
2. Once the cursor is in an Xterm window, if the mouse isn't moved,
everything seems to work fine.
3. Sometimes, while moving the mouse slowly, or after I remove my fingers
from the trackball, the mouse continues to move. Sometimes it moves very
slowly, sometimes it is too fast to see, and sometimes it even reverses
direction. However, I can continue to control it, but it is very
frustrating as it takes several tries to get the cursor where I want it.
4. Hardware - CompuDyne 486 LCD Mono Laptop with internal trackball

I have poured over the code and tried a few things, but I'm not really
a device driver hacker.
I have also written to Shoji, but he didn't have any ideas.
Any help would be sincerely appreciated.
