Good news, I finally got FreeBSD working on my Dell 486/50, now to tackle
XFree86. Maybe that can wait.

For those who might be interested, here's a brief list of the problems I
ran into, and the fixes. Many thanks are due to :

Jordan Hubbard
Brian J McGovern
Jose Manuel Garcia Valdearenas
Kent Palmkvist

for providing e-mails with hints.

My problems were :

3C503 ethernet card would not work using the AUI ethernet port. I was
trying to use the llc0 flag specified in the install_notes, it turns out
I should be using aui or altphys flags instead.

After what appeared to be a sucessful install, on reboot I got a Panic:
init died error message, after the biomask message. This was an
unfortunate one - there was an error in one of the compressed files
(bin_tgz.af) which caused the extract script to complete, but not return
an error. Okay, so I should have realised it was installing too quickly,
and there were files missing.

Many thanks, Despite the two silly problems outlined above, I am amazed
it was so easy to install.
