Subject: Adaptec Controller Errors During SCSI Tape Access

Every time I try to access the SCSI tape drive for
reading or writing, I get several errors back.
aha0: host_stat1a
tar : read error on /dev/rst0: Input/Output error
/386bsd: adapter not taking commands.. frozen?!
/386bsd: Debugger("aha1542") called.
/386bsd: st0(aha0:0:0); timed out AGAIN
Also, whenever a 150MB tape is left in the tape drive
during bootup; the following error messages appear after
the Adaptec controller has been probed successfully,
st0(aha0:0:0): timed out
3 times
My system only has a Wangtek 5150ES on the Adaptec 1542B
controller; thus in the kernel config file only three
entries are needed; controller aha0, controller scbus0, and device st0 .
Has the SCSI drivers changed this much in the FreeBSD1.1 Release
I use now?
Can anyone shed some light on my situation? Thanks, Russ.
