I have double checked that I have recompiled the correct kernel with the OPTION as specified above, but its still not working. I'm afraid that I shall have to give up and get on with Linux instead. Its a shame because I think that FreeBSD seems to be a good o/s to use, but if I can't use my modem with it then I'm afraid that it is not for me :-( Thanks again for your help... -- Ian Steel (Ex FreeBSD user(?) :-( )
