There doesn't seem to be anything on ftp.cdrom.com acknowledging this either. The README for the packages sets says to unpack the packages by: cd / tar xvzf package-to-install.tgz and that this will expand package-to-install into the correct directories. It quickly became clear (using a foreach :-( ) that this is not so: for several (if not all) packages, the correct place to tar xvz is /usr/local. When I've had a chance to clean up the mess, I'll have to walk slowly. Jason Fordham
