Subject: FPU trap mask settings on FreeBSD 1.1?

I know I've read somewhere that FreeBSD initializes the FPU trap mask
in an unusual way (something not masked that usually is), and that the
mask needs to be changed for some math-intensive programs. The "port"
of Octave on FreeBSD.cdrom.com includes a line which masks *all* FPU
signals, but that's a bit extreme.

Can anyone explain the FPU mask settings?

Thanks,
