It's strongly recommended to use serial cards with a 16550A UART on it. It has a FIFO buffer on it that reduces the number of interrupts during high speed transmissions ... : I have a DX2-66, so I think the processor should be able to keep up with : it. ;-) : I heard something about a "sio" driver replacement for com.c. Anybody have : luck with that? The software I'm using is "kermit" to set up the : connection, and then "term" to do the communications. FreeBSD 1.1 and 1.1.5 use the sio driver which is so enhanced - from what I've heard - that you can do speeds over 9600 baus even with the normal 16440 chip without that FIFO buffer. So buying a better serial card && getting the sio driver would be the deal for 'u'.
