I'm out to get a 486 system. I've read the faq but there's no
mention of chip specifics. Do i assume any chip is fine?

the choices are:

Intel 486DX-33 $390
AMD 486DX-40 $290
Cyrix 486DX-40 ?

Intel 486DX2-66 $480
AMD 486DX2-66 $410
Cyrix 486DX2-66 ?

Intel DX4-100 ?

i'm particularly attracted to AMD. Any word of caution?

please point me to any sources of info if you know.

thanks!

joe
