Greetings people :

Putting together a system based around a 486DX40 motherboard, (Cyrix 486S,
Unichip UB4800-VLX)
an Ultrastor 34F and a seagate ST3500N. (1.1Gamma)

During installation (at random times, most often just after changing root
to the floppy, but sometimes while mkfs'ing, and sometimes while copying
files to the new filesystems) I get the ISA strayintr 7 message.

Now, I've seen these on other systems I've helped install, and never had
any problems. I'm told they're harmless, however with this combo the
34F seems to go away as soon as this message appears. I get lots of
timeout/debugger messages telling me the board is not responding, and
the floppy still syncs ok, but the disk never comes back.

The bottomline question I have to ask is, is this normal? If it isn't, a
new (different) motherboard may solve the problem. If it _is_, what
can I do about it?

AdvThanksance...
