Now I'm an owner of an Alphabook. A Notebook with 486SLC33, 4 MB RAM, 120 MB HD. As you can guess this little PC has never seen DOS. I installed FreeBSD 1.1 and it works really great. Hacking C++ while sitting in a train or a bus. I'm really happy. I also installed X on my toy and it works fine, too. But there is one problem left (or right). The manual of my Notebook didn't told me the portadress of the trackball. I only found out that the trackball is on IRQ 12. The trackball works like a PS/2 mouse. I tried a mse-device on standard portadress but ... no chance. On which adress is a normal busmouse configured (I've allready tried 0x23c)? Is it possible to find out the adress? "msd", "checkit pro" and "config" (all DOS stuff) aren't able to find the port. But the "point" mouse driver under DOS knows all about the trackball but this don't help me. Can YOU help me? Please send me an e-mail!! (hildi@pksbln.in-berlin.de or hildi@cs.tu-berlin.de) Thank you a lot... hildi -- hildi@pksbln.in-berlin.de | Offenes UNIX-System BBS: PKSBLN (030) 416 88 95 | Mailbox speziell auch fuer Lehrer und Schueler 300-14400bps HST/V.32bis 8N1 | T.
