It had me puzzled for a few hours (until I decided > to keep on reading my Buslogic manuals). Heh - I wish this were the problem. Quite a number of folks mailed me and called this one. But I have my jumper (it's W5 or something like that) set to IRQ 12 as well as the dip switches. I discovered by accident that if I hit the 'numlock' key, the SCSI i/o which is waiting is performed! I was able to install the basic 3 disks and get a kernel on my SCSI drive through hours of numlock insanity. Ouch. A grep through the FAQ and mailing-list mail returned nothing on numlock. The only possibly relevant detail: (?) a previous machine of mine contained in the CMOS setup an option to enable or disable the A20. This current BIOS doesn't. > Don't take the card back! I hope to get this system working through sheer persistence. ;) The card is nice and fast - with a LED bright enough to see the numlock key by! If no-one has any ideas, I'll go with an Adaptec 1542 now that above 16Mb RAM works. > > -- > [.sig removed] Nathan Bradshaw -- bing@xap.com
