It boots until it reaches the messages "found boot disk sd0", then it hits the scsi disk twice for about a second, the lights on the keyboard flashes, and then the machine hangs. My copy of netbsd is on a very old, very slow ST1239N, so perhaps the drive is timing out in some fashion? I have tried booting variously with my scsi disk set to id 1 and using the netbsd1 kernel, as well as scsi id 3 with the netbsd0 kernel. I have tried removing my cg6 card and using the black and white framebuffer in case the cg6 was not recognized. I have even set the # of selftest megs to 1, and the boot-from to sd()netbsd, so that the machine would boot naturally into netbsd, in case doing an L1-A during the powerup sequence somehow left the machine in a strange state. Also, I created a /etc/fstab based on /etc/fstab.sd0, since there was no /etc/fstab. That was my only departure from the instructions included with the binaries. Suggestions or help on getting netbsd completely booted would be appreciated. -- David Neal. <dneal@neosoft.com> -- Have net.sex; sign someone's PGP key. ``But as I said, it's speculation on my part, not "the truth".'' -- David Sternlight : Kill an abortion protester, save an MD.
