Hold down <ctrl><alt>, then press <F1>
To get back to X press <ctrl><alt>, <F2>
Just tried that and I am still typing on my xterm :)

does anyone have any docs on syscons?
I am playing around with svgalib and I want to read the
scan codes on the keyboard... Yeah, I know the X server
does that however some docs on syscons will be nice..
