Unices with a BSD flavor include: 386BSD, FreeBSD, NetBSD, (BSDi???) Unices with a Linux flavor include: Linux As you said, Linux is just the kernel, whereas to the best of my knowledge, each of the BSD's mentioned has it's own kernel. Now, the different distributions are another story. There seems to be a 1 to 1 on the BSD side, whereas there are several Linux distributions to meet different needs. -- Dan Newcombe newcombe@aa.csc.peachnet.edu Clayton State College Morrow, Georgia -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= "And the man in the mirror has sad eyes." -Marillion
