Subject: Possible bug in ifconfig's /etc/networks lookup

NeoSoft SledgeHammer in baseline configuration (Opti 486/50, 16 MB RAM,
1.2 GB SCSI)...

It appears that ifconfig does not lookup a symbolic netmask name.

Specifically, if we use one of the ifconfig lines in /etc/netstart,
which use symbolic names for netmasks, and it's supposed to get them
from /etc/networks, we can't get out to our network, but explicitly
specifying 255.255.255.0... it works.

We haven't researched it any further.
