We run 8 serial ports for remote login by modem (28.8) with our NetBSD system.
I'd like to add 8 or 16 more ports and I have been told that we should use a
livingston portmaster instead of internal digiboards.

The stated reasons were that the portmaster was more reliable at higher modem
speeds and provides better security. I'ts also apparently MUCH more
expensive....
Can anyone tell me of any practical reasons why I'd want to trash my
relatively cheap digibords for a portmaster --- and also where I can find out
more info about portmasters (ie: features competitive cost, etc:)

Thanks
